Since I'm a very impulsive person and I got an e-mail this morning regarding a pre-sale for tickets to a soccer (football) game being held at Ravens Stadium in July, I bought tickets.
Chelsea vs. AC Milan - Definitely a couple of great teams to watch.
I've never been to a professional soccer match and am definitely looking forward to this.

Friday Update
I had my first indoor soccer game Wednesday night and realized that I have absolutely 0 ability to recover after sprinting. After the game I felt like I was going to die ... that was either from the game or from still being somewhat sick. We won the game after several controversial calls and I am looking forward to getting to a point I can play for longer periods of time because I don't think I am that bad.
Yesterday was a fun day because I felt like the bronchitis was coming back when I woke up and ended up not going to work. Throughout the day I started to feel better and figured it must have been from the cold or some kind of bronchitis after-shock ... like an earthquake. I went to the gym early to do some cardio before my personal training session. The session started with me weighing in ... 268.6 lbs. I think something must be wrong with the scale cause that would mean just about 10 pounds and I feel like I haven't been doing much. My "diet" has gone to shit and I am eating things I said I wouldn't, I am not going to the gym when I have planned because I am too tired and I still haven't gone to one of the spinning classes I really want to do. We'll see how this all turns out in the end.
After the gym I signed my team up for BSSC Volleyball. That should be fun and a lot more relaxing than our VBall House leagues.
This weekend is going to be rough. Tonight it Jenny's birthday party ... with a keg (hopefully its calorie-free beer). Tomorrow morning/afternoon is a group workout then the Aquarium and I'm sure lunch out. Tomorrow night is a party of some sort that I can't really define until after tomorrow night, but there will be lots of food and drinks and I am obligated to have a good time. Then comes the football games on Sunday ... I don't know how those will turn out. On the plus side, expect lots of pictures from this weekend.
Something tells me the first two digits of my next weigh-in will be a 2 and a 7.

Saturday's Terps Game
The Terps are 5-0 at home this year and 5-0 (going back to last year) against ranked teams yet they can still suck beyond comprehension at times. I understand why everyone rags on the ACC because somehow the Terps are in 1st (again) in the Atlantic division and have a loss to Middle Tennessee State on their record. On to the game ...
This weekend's game was another wet one with the rain starting an hour or so before game time. Other than the fact I was in shorts and a jersey and freezing cold, this made it a lot more fun. For some reason I enjoy the messy games a lot more and don't mind hanging out in the rain. I didn't go with my usual crew and this resulted in us getting there later than normal and not tailgating for as long. On the plus side, I remember a lot more of the game but I also felt the cold a lot more. As sloppy as the game was, it came down to a pretty exciting end with the Terps getting a field goal with under 3 minutes (I think) to play to put them up by 2 and then UNC throwing an interception with just over a minute (I think).

Olympic Thoughts
It was only a week ago that my feelings toward the Olympics could be summed up as apathetic at the best, but now that the NBC barage has begun I find myself completely drawn to everything Olympic. I find myself spending my free time at work researching the athletes and the sports that no (or maybe only a few) American cares about (Hand ball anyone?). I realized that America's best hope at a badmiton medal works at the Home Depot and that the Chinese loves team USA basketball more than team China. I was out at Buffalo Wild Wings in White Marsh Saturday night (after a horrible round of golf) and there was football, baseball, the olympics and several random sports channels on. My choice to watch, everything having to do with the olympics. I can't really remember who was playing football, the O's were winning (I think because they fell into their usual play a few months ago), the White Sox may have been playing, and I think there was some other sports news going on. I do remember everything olympics we watched; Phelps getting his first gold in the 400M medley, the US Women's beach vball winning and some other things. Tonight, I went to Speakeasy in Canton to watch Phelps get his third gold after watching some more beach vball and gymnastics. I completely expect this obsession to continue and I cannot wait until track starts.
I wish I had some form of cable to watch the Olympics (yes, yes I know NBC can be watched over the air but the signal is fuzzy and I don't like poor quality), but I don't feel that the cost of comcast or direct tv is worth the short amount of time I would spend watching it. Plus, I can get almost all the content I want to watch online and I have a 600+ DVD/Blu-ray collection to keep me entertained.
I think I will try out NBC's streaming video at work tomorrow .
